About Me

Im a geek. I have worked in technology professionally since I was 18. Before that I spent many late nights teaching myself wha
tever I could about computers (I still do this from time to time).

In addition to technology I worked on fishing boats in the Bering Sea out of the largest
commercial fishing port in the US: Dutch Harbor, Alaska. I love adventure, new
experiences and seeing how other people around world and our small country live. My wanderlust has calmed down significantly o
ver the years, but I still have it.

I love Seattle. I have lived in Seattle now for almost 8 years and in that time accomplished many things.

Some of them include:

• I adopted a Dog, her name is Sadie, she rocks, and has taught me
  a lot. I taught her how to sit
• Co Founded one of the first community wireless networks Seattlewireless.net
• Instigated Freenetworks.org to foster growth and communication among the wireless com
  munity network movement
• I played a key role in growing Alteon’s (formerly Flight Safety Boeing) corporate netwo
  rk from something that did not exist to spanning multiple countries and various cities in the US
• I have been invited to speak at many conferences, trade shows, and special interest groups. You can find a list here
• Quoted and interviewed for numerous articles and publications regarding community wireless networks
• I am a member of the Shmoo Group of Security Professionals, we try and make the Interne
  t a safer place for ya’ll
• Designed and implemented large wireless networks for Conferences, Hotels, Convention Centers and even Truck Stops
• I have made a bunch of friends here in Seattle and around the globe through my free-netw
  orking adventures evangelizing community wireless
• I am happily employed at a company that does something good. We provide peop
  le with better access to information
• I helped run a Youth Hostel in Seattle where I met some fantastic people from all over the world that I will know for the
  rest of my life
• Coached a softball team to the league championships
• Rode my bike from Seattle to Portland
• Studied Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
