DOD Access Points?

So we are at hacknight messing with some old Arlan 630 900mhz wireless access points we got off ebay. Our goal is to upgrade them to the “bridging” firmware so the devices can talk to each other and not just client cards.
On a side note the boxes were bought off ebay. The access points came with a configuration already on them:

ARLAN 630 V4.2C Configuration Ident Menu da521ap2

When google tells you your spelling sucks

So I did a google search “Net Nuetraility” looking for some specific papers on “Net Neutrality”.  Of course I spelled it wrong. According to google I am one of  the very few people on
the web who spelled it this way, you can imagine my initial confusion when my blog came up first on the results page, woops. Its not so much that I don’t know how to spell, but more that my hands tend to be programmed to make the same typing errors over and over again. Its has gotten better over the years considering that a proof reader, reads my blog and harasses me about my spelling. So I pay more attention, but a few still slip through the cracks.

I hope that someone gets my SOS

Ah… I love dealing with customer support. I am trying to get an issue resolved with a product I use at work. After doing the polite thing and sending an email, I get a response a few hours later saying that due to the nature of the request I need to talk to someone else. Apparently the person who responded to my email does not have a “cc” and “forward” button on their mail agent, because otherwise the logical thing would be to forward my request on or cc someone who could open a ticket in said department. Alas, the “Customer Service” department should probably update to a more recent version of outlook which has the cc and forward button.

Luckily my monotonous run through the customer service gauntlet was broken up with some on hold music which seemed rather fitting for the moment. The Police, Message in a Bottle. Specifically:

“A year has passed since I wrote my note
But I should have known this right from the start…

…I’ll send an s.o.s. to the world
I’ll send an s.o.s. to the world
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
I hope that someone gets my
Message in a bottle, yeah
Message in a bottle, yeah”

Being Single worse than smoking?

“The health benefits of being married are so large that single men are at greater risk of dying than smokers, says a study.”

Article

Getting married is better than quitting smoking? How about getting divorced vs taking up cigarettes, “honestly honey, lets just take up smoking and work things out, for our health!”. Are eggs good or bad for you this week?
