Novatel Merlin u730 HSPDA Card in Linux
Decided to try and get a friend’s u730 cellular data card working in Pyramid Linux last night. I thought it would pretty trivial since the card appears to use the same chipset as other EVDO/HSPDA cards already supported in the airprime module. But it turns out the device/vendor id combo is not in airprime. This [...]

DOD Access Points?
So we are at hacknight messing with some old Arlan 630 900mhz wireless access points we got off ebay. Our goal is to upgrade them to the “bridging” firmware so the devices can talk to each other and not just client cards.

Beware the green clouds
So a few moments ago the Community Wireless Summit was wrapping up and a bunch of us were hanging out saying our goodbyes. In the course of 5 minutes a beatiful sunny day with people going shirtless turned into a complete grey sky with large green clouds rolling through fast enough to make everyone turn around and [...]

I hope that someone gets my SOS
Ah… I love dealing with customer support. I am trying to get an issue resolved with a product I use at work. After doing the polite thing and sending an email, I get a response a few hours later saying that due to the nature of the request I need to talk to someone else. [...]
